This report highlights findings of research conducted by Canadian Work/Family Directions, Co. on behalf of Royal Bank Financial Group. At the time of the report, 30 percent of Royal Bank’s employees participated in flexible work arrangements, including job sharing, flextime, modified or compressed work weeks, and work-at-home arrangements. The study found that the arrangements had a positive impact on both employees and the workplace. Users said the arrangements reduced stress and absenteeism; helped employees manage their responsibilities and be in control of their lives; improved efficiency, employee commitment and customer service; increased job satisfaction and increased employees’ ability to meet deadlines effectively.
