Women in Cable & Telecommunications Foundation, March 2001.
This "best practices" study by the Women in Cable & Telecommunications Foundation found that companies with major investments in work/life programs have higher retention, lower turnover, and are able to attract a more diverse workforce. Results showed that these companies spend substantial resources on employee programs, an average of $240,000 annually. The report noted that the support of senior management is a key ingredient in the success of work/life programs. The survey focused on the responses of the 10 companies that reported the greatest gender diversity, with 50 percent or more female employees.
