According to this study by the Business and Professional Women’s
Foundation and American Management Association (AMA) there is a link between
the presence of women in senior management and a better bottom line. The
methodology involved surveying 1,100 managers and executives at AMA companies
to get profiles of their senior management and evidence of each company’s
performance. Performance was measured by sales, market share, shareholder
and book value, profitability and productivity. The results indicated that
companies with women on the senior management team demonstrated better corporate
performance and stronger growth trends from 1996 to 1997.
